Isle of You

The Isle of You was a colloboration project with some fellow students at Bournemouth University. The idea behind it was to create a website to encourage people to be positive. My role behind this was mainly the back-end coding although I also helped with the designing of the front-end. Users were able to log in (or register) to become "citizens" of the virtual island, from within here they could post video auditions to become the Island ruler, which would enable them to promote positive things to do.

Football Tactics

Football Tactics was an idea that I came up with for a web-application. The idea behind it is to create a online tactics board. Where budding football fans could show what they would do if they were manager. It could also be used for managers to create a tactics board to send out to their team. The ability to draw players runs, move players and show where players should pass the ball draws upon the traditional use of a tactics board.

Cinderella : A Modern Tale

"Cinderella : A Modern Tale" is an interactive narrative based on a modern interpretation of the fairytale which allows the user to create their own path in the story. This is another group production between students, where I was involved in the design and development of the interactive parts and the website. Other elements used in this production include videograpy and photography.

Welcome!

Welcome to my online portfolio. My name is Chris and I am a web developer and designer based in Sevenoaks, Kent (South East England).

The aim of this website is to show off my work, but also to share ideas and expriment with ideas which may not be possible to implement in the usual projects.

I am currently employed by Pixelfish Ltd where I help to develop clients websites. However this is focused on what the client wants and to be focused to be as back compatible as possible, whereas the sandbox development work that this website focuses on tries to implement the latest technologies.

Besides working for Pixelfish Ltd I am working on completing my degree in Interactive Media Production at Bournemouth University. Through this course I have learnt various bits of software and theory which have helped me to develop my skills in Web Developement and Design.

A Song A Day

Back in December 2009, I decided that I would come up with a selection of New Year’s Resolutions for the purpose of testing myself, to see if I could achieve anything I put my mind to. At the time of thinking of suitable resolutions I was also tiring of my current music playlist, not because I didn’t like the music, it was just that I had heard each of the songs so many times it was getting repetitive. I therefore decided that I would try to expand my music library. The idea of A Song A Day was born. Although I had no plans to create a project out of this, another of my resolutions was to practice PHP and Web Development in general. I put the two together and created a little side project, where I would share my daily discoveries with the world (or at least those that follow what I do).

This site may only have been recently launched, but I am already thinking of a change of direction. I initially set out to make this site a source of getting freelance work, but recently I have been given the opportunity to work for a Pixelfish Creative.
